Revisiting the cutest bookseller
I was in Rangoon and I paid another visit to the cutest bookseller. She has become a mini-celebrity with many of my Vietnamese friends visiting her and taking pictures with her.
Burma (and maybe Lao) is probably the last South East Asian holdout against mass Western/Korean/Japanese cosmetics. Locals still use homemade or ready to use Thanaka paste. I often see ladies selling Thanaka wood by the street side in Burma. Some people prepare the paste at home. I think it works in Burma as there are well established local companies making domestic cosmetics and of course a regular supply of raw materials for people who want to make cosmetics at home.
